Rider Waite Smith Five of Pentacles Tarot Card Meaning

Five of Pentacles

The Five of Pentacles paints a dire and dreary picture. This card deals with the suffering that comes from a lack of material comfort. This can be poverty, financial struggle, or a feeling of being without the expected means of a society.  Inhabiting this position feels deeply uncomfortable, though despite the struggle there are spots of sweetness, most notably the companionship shown by the two figures traveling together. Additionally, there's a guiding light from the stained glass that represents the eternal presence of a higher meaning or being (depending on your beliefs) that never ceases to illuminate our lives, not matter how challenging they get.

Poverty, suffering, loss of security, doing without, struggling
